Making Creme Egg Brownies!



So this was a little impromptu post, I hadn't planned to post until the start of next week. But with Easter here I just couldn't resist this post, I do a lot of baking around easter time and I thought it would be nice to share it with you all, as I have never posted a baking post on here before. 
The next post I shall apologize properly for my absence and explain a little about that, but for now I really hope you like and try this recipe.
 After mentioning it in a blog chat this week I had a lot of people ask for me to post the recipe so as promised, here it is enjoy!



To make this you will need:

3 eggs
Creme eggs (they can be the small or large ones, I used the smaller ones about 2 packets)
120g of butter
185g of Milk Chocolate (you can use dark as well)
85g of Plain Flour
40 Grams of Cocoa Powder
150g Caster Sugar

Utensils you will also need:

A microwavable bowl
A mixing bowl
Spatula
Sieve 
Electric whisk (or if your strong enough a normal whisk will do just fine)
Baking Tray
Weighing scales

Before you start, place your Creme Eggs into the fridge (if they aren't already) to make sure they are more solid.
So the first thing you will need to do is take your chocolate and measure out the right amount. Break it into squares as this point so it is easier to melt. 
Then take your butter and measure that too. 
You then need to add those two together in a microwavable bowl and place in the microwave for 30 seconds do this 2-3 times depending on how well it is melting, but don't burn the mixture! 


After that is done break your three eggs into a mixing bowl then measure out your sugar. 
You then need to pour the sugar into the bowl with the eggs, do this slowly and little by little as you mix it together with an electric whisk, the consistency you are looking for is like a milkshake kind of texture, it should be slightly more thicker that originally do this for about 2-3 minutes.



Once you have done that you can now pour your butter and chocolate mix you have melted over your egg and sugar mix then you want to fold this together. Do it consistently and until the mixture has mixed well together.



Now weigh out your flour and your cocoa powder then mix them together. Taking a sieve pour the mixture threw the sieve slowly ensuring your cover the mix keep doing this until the mixture has gone. Then begin to fold the mixture together again.





Once that is all done you can now pour your ingredients into a tray, make sure it is greased before so. I used butter to wipe around the tray to make sure it doesn't stick. (any tray will do depending on how thick you would like them to be)
Afterwards place it in the oven on Gas mark 4 for 15 minutes 


Whilst you mix is happily baking away in the oven you need to begin chopping your crème eggs in half, they don't have to be even some of mine fell apart as you can see, and its definitely okay to eat those ones.



Then after 15 minutes of your mix being in the oven take it out and whilst the mix is still gooey, place the Creme eggs onto your brownie and push them in slightly. Also evenly spread them out to insure they don't run into one another, unless you want that to happen go crazy and place them everywhere! The more the better! 



Then pop the mix back in the oven for another 10-15 minutes (I did leave it slightly longer, depending on your oven) just check to make sure it is cooked. To do this place a knife or skewer into the middle of brownie and check if it comes out clean. If it does its done! If not just leave it a little bit longer.




Et voila that is how you make Creme Egg Brownies, some of mine oozed the mixture out of the eggs but the beauty of making this is thats okay! This can be as messy as you want this is why it is perfect for anyone to make, or have a go at. 
I'm pretty chuffed as this is the first time I made brownies and let me tell you that it is more than okay to experiment when baking and sometimes you just have to go for it and hope for the best, and sometimes it does turn out okay!

I also made some little nest included in the picture as you know they are very straight forward, just melt the chocolate and mix in any cereal you want and pop some mini eggs on top yumm!
