My picks from LFW: Illustrated

I love to talk about London Fashion Week, its one of the Fashion weeks that I feel I connect with most. If you're an avid follower of my blog you'll know that I talk about every season at LFW just because you know, I wanna.
I always pull my favourite collections together and pick pieces I've loved on the catwalk and talk about them.
Well that is what I'm going to do/ have done. Yet this time with a little twist.

You may remember a few months now was it? I did a 'Series' shall we call it called 'Inspired by Bloggers' and chose my favourites for that season and illustrated them? Well that's exactly what I've done for this one so it has a little twist on it. Illustrating though I'm not massively amazing at it, I love to do. I think I've found through school and university I finally found 'my style' and I just think its nice to do. Along with collating and sort of collaging this all together. So without further a do, enjoy! I really hope you do!

The first one I have to talk about is Henry Holland as he is ultimately one of my favourite designers and has been for many many years. I felt like this collection was toned down in a way for HOH it wasn't as colourful or loud as usually expected. But for me this is probably 'one of' my favourite collections he's produced. It still has this element of HOH in it, its fun, its cheeky and a little bit naughty shall I say? Down to the slogans, which can I say I love! - I kinda need that Bitches hoodie! The whole feel to the collection is very cowboy-esque it has a real western feel to it from the flared trousers which I NEED, man those flares.. to the stars and fringing which I will never say no to. I can't really say its one of my favourite styles to lust after but I love the classic HOH vibe its been given. With toned down colours and popping prints this was a collection I very much enjoyed seeing.

I watched Topshop Unique on the live feed on Instagram the day it was on, Sunday I think? And immediately showed my admiration for all the mustard tones I could see coming out onto the catwalk. Then when the Orange fur Coat came down the catwalk I was like 'OMG' YES
This whole collection had a flash of nostalgia it was very throwback 70's/ 90's sort of vibe. I completely fell in love with the graphic printed sweaters as this is something I've been wearing a lot of lately. Then mixed with ditsy prints and deck chair stripes is a real mix of seasons which is a real ode to the British weather which I think designers often play up to. It gives the option to layer up which I think is really nice.

I've said this time and and time again every year I look forward to seeing what Preen bring to the table because it is always new and so fresh; I feel like whenever they bring a new collection out I've never really seen anything like it before.
What they seem to be doing SO well at the moment is teaming this real ladylike, feminine feel to the outfits yet still roughing it up and giving it a real edge. Which is what Preen always go for with their collection.
Ruffles were big in this show, they made a lot of the pieces a real statement, the layering and the whole overall silhouette to the shape worked so well. One of my favourite bits about the collection was the little details the little words on the models earrings and around the belts. One of those details that really brought the collection together and fit really nicely with their last collection. I have to admit too that I'm really warming round to gingham. (I went a bit crazy on the trend maybe a year ago, and hated the return) but now once that's out my system its really growing on me and I love the punk vibe it has about it here.

I don't actually think I've ever spoke about Versus Versace before which is quite surprising because I have a real love for Versace. This collection caught my eye when looking at the collections for LFW more than likely because the whole collection is ultimately black and that is basically what my whole wardrobe contains right now so straightaway I loved the colouring. The collection was followed by more (still dark) but coloured hues such as warm Burgundy's, flashes of pink and cobalt blue which are actually 2 of my favourite colours right now! amongst the black which really made the pieces stand out. I loved this collection down to the detailing with the branded chokers around the neck and the big details, the sporty sexy vibe and the real high drama strong look to the collection.
My favourite pieces from this collection have to be the jacket with the blue pockets below and the fluffy black jumper paired with the choker.

I've always had a little place in my heart for Burberry and again like Versace this isn't usually a collection I pick out. I actually seen Gok Wan tweet about it and thought oh I'll check it out see what its all about and was pleased I did. This collection is SO classic, so true to British Fashion Industry. The textures, the detail and the layering was completely on point. I loved the over sized cuffs and the lace being layer over the stripes, and the stripes oh the stripes. I couldn't say no really could I??
My favourite piece was the black lace dress layered over the stripes (below) that piece you'll definitely see me rocking into A\W next year. Alongside that I really loved the ruffles and big details on the blouses so very feminine and they made a real statement.
